A Bike Pedal Wrench is thin enough to fit the narrow gripping surface between the pedal and the crank. A good pedal wrench will also be long enough to provide sufficient leverage and have its gripping surfaces angled for efficient use. There are two sizes of pedal axles, 1/2 inch (used on bikes with a one piece crank, usually the cheapest bikes) and 9/16 inch, used on three piece cranks, usually found on midpriced and expensive bikes, even those generally using metric sized fasteners.
